Alcohol and Substance Abuse

Alcohol and substance use is present on all college campuses.  For some students, it is just a “phase” and the behavior does not affect their relationships, school performance, or other areas of life.  For others though, the use of alcohol and other substances can affect their college experience dramatically.  Beyond the legal implications of drinking and drugging while underage or driving while under the influence, academic performance can be substantially impaired.  Use of substances can also contribute to depression, anxiety and feelings of loneliness and isolation.  Often friends and family also have concerns when someone they care about has a drinking or drugging problem.
