Cultural Issues

SIUC is a very diverse campus in term of race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, ability and family background.  We also welcome many international students.  This provides a wonderful and enriching learning environment both within and outside the classroom.  However, as we all know diversity also brings with it conflict and misunderstanding due to cultural differences.  The more we learn and understand about ourselves and those who are different from us, the more we can bridge the gap between cultures and prepare ourselves for the workplace and life in a diverse United States.
